QA Pool Pump Control
QA Pool Pump Control ensures the optimal pool circulation run time based on a time schedule and water temperature. It responds to motion at the pool, wind, robot cleaning, temperature differences and heating, and sends a notification if the pump fails to switch on or off. It works together with other applications in the SHE system to ensure unified optimal control.

🏊💧 QA Pool Pump Control
QA Pool Pump Control is an application for controlling the pool circulation pump in the SHE system. From the set basic daily running time and its extension based on water temperature, it calculates the total daily running time, divides it into preset time segments and starts circulation at the set hour. The pump runs for exactly as long as needed to keep the water clean — no longer.
💼 Business presentation
You no longer need to think about the pump. The warmer the water, the longer circulation runs. When motion is detected at the pool, the pump switches off or on according to your settings. In strong wind, it alternates running and pausing to flush out wind-blown debris. When the pool robot starts, it behaves according to your choice, and it can run while the pool is being heated. Need circulation right now? One button switches it on for 30 minutes to 8 hours. It works together with other applications in the SHE system to ensure unified optimal control.
📊 Data analysis and management
For clear visualization and for working with historical measurements and charts, we recommend connecting to SCADA Mervis.

🧩 Role in the SHE system
The application uses inputs from other applications and devices of the SHE system:
- Weather and wind — QA Weather Forecast YR (wind response, weather display)
- Temperature sensors for measuring water temperature in the upper and lower parts of the pool, motion sensor, pool robot and pool heating integrated in the gateway
⏱️ Daily running time based on water temperature
The daily circulation time is made up of two components; the resulting time is divided into time segments:
- Fixed time — basic daily running time (e.g. 4 h)
- Additional run time based on pool water temperature (20–30 °C) — extension based on water temperature: nothing at 20 °C, the full set time at 30 °C (e.g. 6 h), proportionally in between
- Time segments — the daily time is divided into the selected number of segments, each with its own start time (e.g. at 9:00 and 13:00)
🏃 Response to motion, wind and cleaning
- On motion — switch the pump off, switch it on or ignore motion; the response lasts for the set time (e.g. 10 min)
- In wind — above the wind speed limit (e.g. 30 km/h) it alternates running and pausing in the set cycle and ratio (e.g. 30 min, 50 %) and flushes out wind-blown debris
- During cleaning — behaviour while the pool robot is running: switch off, switch on or ignore
🌡️ Mixing and heating
- Mixing — when the difference between the water temperature in the upper and lower part of the pool exceeds the set limit (e.g. 1 °C), it starts the pump for a minimum time (e.g. 30 min)
- Switch on during pool heating — the pump runs while heating is in operation
🖐️ Manual control and notifications
- Modes AUTO, OFF, ON and one-time switch-on for 30 min, 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours
- Overview on the main card: pump status, temperatures, motion, weather, remaining and elapsed running time, next start
- Notifications when the pump fails to switch on or off to selected users, with a configurable repeat interval and time window (e.g. 07:00–22:00)
⚙️ Key features
- Calculation of the daily running time from the fixed time and water temperature
- Division into time segments, each with its own start time
- Response to motion, wind, robot cleaning, temperature difference and heating
- One-time switch-on for a preset time
- Notifications on pump switch-on or switch-off failure
🔌 Operating conditions
- Gateway: Fibaro HC3L or Fibaro HC3 (or Yubii Home / Yubii Home Pro)
- Temperature sensors for measuring water temperature in the upper and lower parts of the pool and a switching output for the pump integrated in the gateway
- QA Weather Forecast YR (required — source of wind and weather data)
- Optional: motion sensor, pool robot and pool heating devices
⚠️ Important information
- The application switches the pump via a device in the gateway; electrical circuit protection and pump protection are provided as part of the installation
- We recommend verifying the functionality with the TRIAL version before deployment
