QA Window Control is an application for controlling the opening of motorized windows in the SHE system. It provides cooling with outdoor air, night pre-cooling and ventilation when the CO2 concentration is increased — for maximum comfort and savings. Based on the weather forecast, it calculates the heat gain of the room from sunlight and the temperature difference.

💼 Business presentation

You no longer need to open the windows manually. The application itself cools the room with outdoor air to the required temperature, in summer mode pre-cools the room at night if the predicted heat gain for the next period is high, and ventilates when the indoor air quality is poor. In strong wind, rain or when the building is armed, it closes the windows. It works together with other room comfort applications to ensure unified optimal control.

🧩 Role in the SHE system

The application uses inputs from other applications of the SHE system:

• Weather forecast — QA Weather Forecast YR (heat gain calculation, wind, rain)
• Profile control — QA Profile Control (time schedules for Climate)
• Global climate mode — QA Global Climate Mode (annual mode summer / winter)
• Arming state — e.g. QA Jablotron Integration (JA-121T)

❄️ Auto cooling

Cooling of the room with outdoor air to the temperature set in the time schedules for Climate, with an adjustable cooling setpoint correction (Correction the set cooling temperature, e.g. −1 °C).

🌙 Night pre-cooling

If the predicted heat gain for the next period is high, the application pre-cools the room at night:

• To the Room temperature setpoint (e.g. 20 °C)
• Only if the outdoor temperature is higher than the set Minimum outdoor temperature (e.g. 16 °C)
• Within the set Precooling time From / To (e.g. 1–6 h)

🫁 CO2 ventilation

Ventilation of the room when the air quality is poor:

• Limit CO2 — ventilation when the CO2 concentration is higher than the set value (e.g. 1000 ppm)
• Maximum Time of ventilation (e.g. 20 min)
• Adjustable window opening in % — WINDOW OPENING VALUE (0–100 %)

🌬️ Wind, rain and arming

• Wind — closing of the windows when the wind speed is higher than the set Wind speed limit (e.g. 30 km/h)
• Rain — closing of the windows when it rains, with an adjustable Delay after rain
• Arming — closing when the building is armed or partially armed

🌡️ Room specifications

Setting of how the outdoor environment affects the room temperature:

• OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE TRANSMISSION — transfer of the outdoor temperature into the room
• SOLAR GAIN — heat gain from sunlight
• Prediction hours — number of forecast hours from which the heat gain is calculated (e.g. 24 h)

🔌 Operating conditions

• Control unit: Fibaro HC3L or Fibaro HC3
• Motorized windows integrated in the system (assigned in the Device settings)
• QA Weather Forecast YR — source of the weather forecast
• Optional: QA Global Climate Mode, QA Profile Control, QA Jablotron Integration (JA-121T) (arming state)
• Optional: CO2 sensor, wind sensor, rain sensor, room temperature and outdoor temperature (assigned in the Device settings)

⚠️ Important information

• The scope of automatic actions depends on the installed sensors (CO2, wind, rain) — without a sensor, the application works with the weather forecast
• CO2 ventilation requires a CO2 sensor in the system
• We recommend verifying the functionality with the TRIAL version before deployment
