QA Blind Control
QA Blind Control automatically controls blinds according to the weather forecast, the annual climate mode and the room temperature. During sun exposure, it provides shade as protection against overheating of the room, closes the blinds when you watch television and reacts to wind, rain and arming. It works together with other room comfort applications in the SHE system to ensure unified optimal control.

QA Blind Control is an application for automatic blind control in the SHE system. It provides comfort when watching television as well as shading as protection against overheating of the room. The application works with the weather forecast and, according to the annual climate mode, the actual room temperature and the setpoint temperature, provides shade during sun exposure.
💼 Business presentation
You no longer need to operate the blinds manually. The application itself recognizes when the sun threatens to overheat the room and closes the blinds in time. When you watch television, it closes the blinds for a better picture; in rain, wind or when the building is armed, it performs the set action. It works together with other room comfort applications to ensure unified optimal control.

🧩 Role in the SHE system
The application uses inputs from other applications of the SHE system:
- Weather forecast — QA Weather Forecast YR (cloud fraction, wind, rain)
- Profile control — QA Profile Control
- Global climate mode — QA Global Climate Mode (annual mode summer / winter)
- Arming state — e.g. QA Jablotron Integration (JA-121T)
- TV on state
🛡️ Sun protection
Setting of when the blind is closed to provide shade against overheating of the room:
- Setpoint temperature from the time schedules for Climate + cooling setpoint correction (Correction the set cooling temperature)
- Solar protection time From / To (e.g. 10–16 h)
- CLOUD FRACTION LIMIT — shading takes place only with sufficient sunshine
- Sun protection summer mode
📺 Closing during TV
The application can also close the blind while you are watching television. If an irradiation sensor is installed, the irradiation must be higher than the set Exposure limit. Options TV Day Close (only during the day) or TV Always Close.
🌬️ Wind, rain and arming
- Wind — action when the forecast or the wind speed sensor reading is higher than the set limit (Wind Open / Wind Close)
- Rain — action Rain Open / Rain Close with an adjustable Delay after rain
- Arming — closing when the building is armed or partially armed
🌡️ Room specifications
Setting of how the outdoor environment affects the room temperature:
- OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE TRANSMISSION — transfer of the outdoor temperature into the room
- SOLAR GAIN — heat gain from sunlight
- Prediction hours — number of forecast hours from which the heat gain is calculated (e.g. 24 h)

⚠️ Important information
- The scope of automatic actions depends on the installed sensors (wind, irradiation, rain) — without a sensor, the application works with the weather forecast
- Closing when watching TV requires the TV on state in the system
- We recommend verifying the functionality with the TRIAL version before deployment
